We had several heated
discussions on the procedure for
electing the members of the
Board of Director. It was
suggested that 1) the election
of the BOD be selected by the
Steering Committee; 2) A group
separate from the Steering
Committee choose the BOD; and 3)
the election of the Board
members proceed as the Steering
Committee election.
It was finally decided that we
elect the chairman and tabled
the election of the other board
members for a later date.
Advertus (Orea) Wright was
unanimously nominated elected.
Anthony Fannoh, our newly
elected Chairman, thanked
everyone who participated in the
election, as well as the
players. He especially thanked
the planning committee, giving
them ownership of the success of
the event. He promised to
provide engaging opportunities
where the views of everyone
would be considered and
appreciated. He also promised to
be forth coming with information
regarding FOLBF and finally
invited everyone to the after
party at Haydees in Silver
Spring, MD to continue the
fundraising efforts. Melvin
Hall, our newly elected Chaplin
